Cunningham Announces 2020 Congressional Art Competition
Rep. Joe Cunningham today invited high school students across the Lowcountry to submit original artwork for his second annual Congressional Art Competition. The contest is open to all high school students who live in South Carolina’s first Congressional District. The deadline for submissions is April 29th, 2020.
Students interested in participating should fill out the student release form and can find more information about the competition on his website.
The winners will be chosen by a panel of art professionals from the Lowcountry and there will be a reception for all participants, their families, and teachers. The first-place winner will receive two round-trip tickets to the National Reception in Washington, D.C. and their art will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. Second and third place art pieces will be displayed in the Congressman’s Mt. Pleasant and Beaufort offices.
“I am thrilled to announce the 2020 Congressional Art Competition and I’m excited to see all the creative pieces our Lowcountry students will submit,” Congressman Joe Cunningham said. “I look forward to recognizing the talents of young Lowcountry artists and I encourage all high schools in the district to participate.”
