Canceled/Postponed Charleston Events Due to Coronavirus Concerns

The following local events have been canceled or postponed due to concerns over the COVID-19 virus (aka coronavirus):
- North Charleston’s St. Paddy’s Day Block Party and Parade scheduled for March 14th has been canceled.
– - The Underground Kitchen Pop-Up event scheduled for March 12th has been postponed to a date that will be determined later.
– - The College of Charleston’s 250th Beethoven concert, scheduled for March 26th, was canceled due to travel restrictions for the visiting artist.
– - The India Association of Greater Charleston’s Holi Event, scheduled for March 15th has been postponed. Further details of the revised date and schedule will be “conveyed once the threat has subsided and it is safe to conduct such events.”
– - The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division I St. Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for March 17th has been canceled
– - The Hibernian Society St. Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for March 17th has been canceled
– - The 21st Annual Shuckin’ in the Park event at Old Santee Canal Park, scheduled for March 14th, was canceled
– - The 2020 Volvo Car Open scheduled for April 4 – 12 on Daniel Island will not be held
– - The DIG SOUTH Tech Summit, scheduled for April 22 – 24 in Charleston, has been postponed to July.
– - The North Charleston POPS! “Pops in Space” concert scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center is postponed. The concert is rescheduled for Saturday, May 23rd.
– - Cher’s “Here We Go Again” Tour scheduled for March 20th at North Charleston Coliseum has been postponed and rescheduled to September 12th.
– - Charleston Jazz Orchestra’s performance of “Mi Alma Latina” with Nestor Torres scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th at the Charleston Music Hall is postponed. The performance is rescheduled for Saturday, July 25th
– - The Charleston Music Hall is postponing or canceling all events through April 1st. Click here for details.

- The South Carolina Department of Corrections has suspended visitation at all correctional institutions across the state for 30 days due to coronavirus concerns.
– The Carolina Cup Racing Association has made the decision to cancel the upcoming 86th running of Carolina Cup Races on March 28, 2020.
Hootie & the Blowfish have announced that the annual Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am and corresponding benefit concert in Myrtle Beach have been canceled for 2020.
- The 2020 Hootie at Bulls Bay intercollegiate contest will proceed as scheduled March 20-24; however, the corresponding Hootie & the Blowfish concert will not take place in light of current health concerns

- The Taylor Music Group has decided to cancel the upcoming St. Patrick’s Celebration Variety Show Concert on Sunday, March 15 at Circular Congregational Church
– - Water Mission announced the Celebration of Life for Molly Greene scheduled for Thursday, March 19th has been “paused” and may be rescheduled for a later date
- The annual Walk for Water event scheduled for Saturday, March 21st will now be “a virtual walk” with no face-to-face gathering

– - The South Carolina Stingrays season has been suspended
– - The May 12th performance of Baby Shark Live! at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date to be announced
– - Lauren Daigle concert scheduled for March 19th at North Charleston Coliseum postponed, rescheduled for August 17th
– - The Redux Contemporary Art Center has decided to postpone all public events, including classes, through the month of March. The gallery will remain open to the public, with limited hours. Their new gallery hours will be Tuesday – Friday, noon to 5 pm.
– - The Rock and Roll Playhouse kids show at the Charleston Pour House on March 14th has been canceled and will be rescheduled.
- Sadler Vaden’s March 19th show at the Pour House has been postponed
- Della Mae’s March 14th show at the venue has been postponed to a new date
- Papadosio is rescheduling their two night run (originally 3/20-21)

- Organizers of the annual NEEDTOBREATHE Classic are postponing the event until the fall. The celebrity golf tournament and after-party concert were scheduled for March 30th at the Daniel Island Club. Plans are to reschedule the event for October
– - The Charleston Gaillard Center’s Board and Management Team have decided to close the Martha and John M. Performance Hall to large gatherings through April 16th. The following events will no longer occur as scheduled:
- Charleston Symphony Orchestra’s Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony on March 27 and 28
- MasterChef Junior Live! on March 29
- The Play That Goes Wrong on March 31
- Philharmonix on April 14

– - The 9th Annual Shuck-A-Rama Charity Oyster Roast scheduled for March 14th has been canceled
– - The Lowcountry Orphan Relief will no longer be accepting used clothing donations until March 31st. They will reevaluate at that time.
- Volunteer groups of 10 or more will be canceled or rescheduled until March 31st. They will reevaluate at that time.
- LOR’s Open House on March 19, 2020 will be canceled

- The Alliance For Full Acceptance has postponed their Lowcountry Boil that was scheduled for March 29th.

– - The 48th annual Summerville Family YMCA Flowertown Festival will now take place on September 4, 5, and 6, 2020
– - Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce’s March Luncheon has been canceled
– - The Black Expo 2020 scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at the Charleston Area Convention Center has been postponed. A rescheduled date will be announced soon.
– - Group Fitness Classes at 02 Fitness locations are temporarily postponed beginning Saturday, March 14th

– - Starting Saturday, March 14, Charleston Stage performances at the Dock Street Theater will be suspended through at least March 31.
– - CRYSTAL by Cirque du Soleil cancels North Charleston Coliseum performances – refunds available at point of purchase
– - The Kane Brown concert scheduled for March 26th at the North Charleston Coliseum has been rescheduled for October 15th
– - The Dorchester County Library Bookmobile is discontinuing its stops at assisted living facilities and daycares, until further notice. The bookmobile will continue to make its regularly scheduled community stops.
– - Lowcountry Bald‘s fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has been postponed
– - The Charleston Bluegrass Festival will be rescheduled for a date later this year
– - The College of Charleston announced that classes would move online for the next two weeks and all on-campus events through March 29th are to be canceled

- In addition, regular interpretive programs have been suspended temporarily. This includes: All hourly Port to Plantation presentations, volunteer events and schedules, Friday Gallery Talks, and Archaeology Thursday Demonstrations
