Charleston Library of Things is Hosting Their First Membership and Inventory Drive
Charleston Library of Things, South Carolina’s first sharing library, is hosting a drive for membership and inventory on Saturday, March 21st. The library plans to serve the Charleston area by offering a community sharing hub for tools and other commonly needed household goods.
In lieu of buying and storing costly items that take up space and are rarely needed, the goal of the sharing library is to have them available to borrow – similar to borrowing a library book.
On Saturday, March 21st, from 12 pm to 4 pm, community members can drop off their gently used items in front of the Circle co-working space at 1809 Reynolds Avenue in North Charleston. A wish list is posted on the Charleston Library of Things website, and it is recommended to check it before coming by with items to contribute (chslot.com/blog/tool-drive)
In addition to the inventory drive, the sharing library will be accepting new members. Membership fees are annual and though a suggested annual membership fee is $75, there is a sliding scale option available in order to make it affordable to the entire community.
