Charleston Parks Conservancy Postpones or Cancels All Events Through March 31st
As COVID-19 cases continue to emerge in our region, the Charleston Parks Conservancy is taking the matter very seriously. The health and well-being of our staff, volunteers, and community partners are our highest priorities, and we want to keep you informed about the precautions we are taking during this time.
Effective today, all Conservancy organized events are canceled or postponed through March 31. We will re-evaluate our programming at the end of the month. This includes Garden in the Parks, Gather and Garden and all volunteer events. Swoon to the Rose is postponed until further notice, and all community engagement events such as Sunday Brunch, movie nights, Magnolia Music Series and others are canceled. The Conservancy’s office will be closed and staff will be working remotely. Our community gardens are open, but community gardeners should garden solitarily and follow a “no-touch” policy with fellow gardeners and others enjoying the park. Look for specific guidance from garden staff.
In the meantime, the Charleston Parks Conservancy’s mission has never been more important for our community. All City of Charleston parks are open and there are a myriad of ways to enjoy them in safe and healthy ways. Parks offer great stress relief, so while maintaining appropriate “social distance,” get out and enjoy a walk in the park! We will continue to provide updates in the coming weeks and appreciate your understanding during this time.
