Local Duo Girlpants to Release Debut EP in April
Girlpants, a duo that thinks they are most known for their third member, Simon the Cat, will soon release their debut EP, Touch of the Mania, a collection of instantly memorable power-pop anthems forged from funk, punk, and 80s vibes.
A high energy and fiercely bassy record, Touch of the Mania is set for release on Friday, April 10th, across all platforms. The EP features Scotty Groth’s crunchy bass lines layered with sumptuous melodies and harmonies (sung by Julie Slonecki, as directed by Simon the Cat). You’ll be humming along for dear life in mere seconds. With hits like “Scorpio Rising” (about this time Scotty met a girl he liked), and “Cosmos” (about the fatalistic nature of existence and the void of infinity), Touch of the Mania will have something for everyone.
The EP was produced, recorded, and engineered in Atlanta by Julie Slonecki at Melrose Studios. Get a little taste below.
