Former Local Radio Personality “Rocky D” Arrested on DUI Charge
The Charleston Police Department (CPD) on Monday night arrested local conservative talk show host Mark Disabato (aka “Rocky D”) on charges of driving under the influence.
Disabato, 62, a former radio personality and current podcast host, was booked early Tuesday morning into the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center.
Over the years, he has hosted shows on multiple local radio stations, but can currently be heard on his podcast, “Radio Free Rocky D.”
According to a CPD incident report, an officer responded to a West Ashley apartment complex in reference to an “injured party.” A witness told the responding officer that their parked vehicle had been struck by Disabato, who had since been taken to the hospital.
A second witness told the officer they heard a collision and then watched Disabato pull his vehicle away from another vehicle before parking. This witness stated they then began filming the incident. The witness said they then saw Disabato “passing out in the driver seat with the vehicle running” and then saw Disabato stumble out of his vehicle and fall onto the pavement.
Two other witnesses told the officer they had also heard a collision and saw Disabato stumble out of his vehicle. These witnesses said it appeared Disabato was “overly intoxicated.”
Disabato was later interviewed and tested by police at the Roper St. Francis Emergency Room.
