Atlanta Brewery Announces Charitable Donation to SCRLA
Press Release
Scofflaw Brewing Co. has pledged over $50,000 for the hospitality industry relief donations through partnerships with the Giving Kitchen and Bottleshare in Georgia, KultureCity in Alabama, and the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA). Through each partnership, Scofflaw is committed to supporting hospitality service workers in need of financial assistance due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
“Now more than ever, leaders in the alcohol and beverage industry should be doing anything they can to support hospitality industry employees, including our own,” Scofflaw Brewing Co. founder, Matthew Shirah, said. “These folks have made this industry and Scofflaw what it is today, yet they face the most difficult circumstances imaginable.”
Scofflaw has partnered with the Giving Kitchen and Bottleshare to create two “Scofflaw Matched”, GoFundMe donation pages. These pages can be reached by following the links HERE and HERE. In addition to Scofflaw’s charitable matching campaigns, Shirah will donate $10,000 in Publix and Kroger gift cards to various organizations, who has been distributing them to grant recipients. In South Carolina, Scofflaw is donating $20,000 to South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association which will be redistributed in the hospitality industry to grant recipients. In its 75th year, the SCRLA’s mission is to promote, protect and educate the foodservice and lodging industries of our state and to ensure positive business growth for our members.
“The situation is extremely difficult because of the uncertainty,” Shirah said. “At our brewery in Atlanta, we are dedicated to providing consistent work hours for our employees in addition to finding opportunities for those who were otherwise displaced.”
