Folly Association of Business Launches The Folly Beach Employee Relief Fund
Press Release
The Folly Beach Association of Business (FAB) has started a GoFundMe campaign to assist employees of Folly Beach businesses who have been out of work since the beach was closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. FAB has started the fund with a $1,000 donation and is asking members of the community to help fund the campaign which will assist out-of-work employees to cover medical expenses, rent, and utility bills.
“Many members of the community have expressed their desire to donate and help the people who take care of them on Folly Beach,” FAB president Lynn Oliver said. “The employees of our businesses are the people who make Folly such a wonderful place to be so helping to sustain them until we can welcome our visitors back to the island is just something we should do.”
Employees of restaurants, bars, retail shops, excursions, accommodations, and other categories are eligible to apply for the funds. People can donate and find more information on the fund at VisitFolly.com/Employee- Relief-Fund or at GoFundMe.com/f/Folly-Beach- Employee-Relief-Fund.
