McClellanville, BCDCOG Launch Virtual Comprehensive Plan Online Meeting
Town of McClellanville residents and stakeholders are invited to join the town online for a virtual 2020 Comprehensive Plan meeting beginning May 12th.
In partnership with the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG), the virtual meeting will be available online on the town’s website (www.townofmcclellanville-sc.
Paper copies of the presentation and survey are available upon request at McClellanville Town Hall. Members of the public can contact town staff at (843) 887-3712 for more information or pick up a packet from the front porch at town hall.
“This is an opportunity for community members to review and consider a number of relevant issues in the town such as population, housing, land use, economic development, community facilities, cultural and natural resources, resiliency and transportation,” said BCDCOG Planning Director Kathryn Basha. “Public participation is key to creating and realizing a plan that reflects the collective vision of McClellanville. We encourage everyone who is interested to provide input and help shape the future.”
State law requires municipalities to update comprehensive plans, which serve as a framework for policy decisions related to growth and development, every decade. The 2020 comprehensive plan is projected to be adopted by the town later this year.
