on

More often in our digitized age do we find ourselves working from home, the days of the office are slowly dying, and it is starting to show. Statistically, our generation is significantly worse for wear than that of previous generations. When working from home it can be very easy to fall into bad habits, forsake exercise, eat terribly, and lounge around all day in our underwear. When working from home, you should treat it as the office, and you would not walk the office in your underwear, would you? Well, I hope not.

Even if you are not working from home and just find it more comfortable to exercise there rather than at a gym, you will be relieved to find out you can get in shape at home quite easily! Find a space in your home, stock it with workout equipment, then put it into good use! There’s no need for bulky machines to make your home gym. Start with a few pieces, such as the kettlebell, resistance bands, foam rollers, yoga matt, and more here, then gradually build up from there. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of guides and tutorials all designed to cater around home exercise, and thankfully, we have compiled some of the best! Get up and work out, you’ve no excuse after this!

Find A Routine And Stick To It

When you are working out at home, you should always have a routine to adhere to. High-intensity workout routines should always contain full-body movement, cardio, and strength. Push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, and lunges are always an integral part of many routines and do not require a massive amount of space for you to do them at home.

Don’t Neglect Your Cardio

If you are trying to burn a lot of weight in a short amount of time, then it is very important to incorporate a lot of cardio into your workout routines. Some examples of cardio are push-ups, abdominal crunches, and jumping jacks or seal jacks. The benefit of cardio is that you rely on your body weight and your speed to do the exercises. If you are not fond of bodyweight exercises, then you can use free weights or jumping ropes.

Keep Yourself Strong

As mentioned previously in this compilation, push-ups are a fantastic way to stay in shape, build strength, and keep fit. Not only do they tone and shape your upper body and arms, but they work your core and lower body like your abdomen, also.

Start by seeing how many push-ups you can do in five minutes, and gradually bring it in until you can do a hundred in sets of fifty in five minutes. When doing push-ups, your back should be completely straight and your head looking at the ground. Many ‘professionals’ suggest looking ahead, but that can put a lot of unwanted strain on your neck.

If you grow tired of push-ups, then you can spice things up. There are plentiful variations of the push-up, from one-handed to one-fingered. If you’ve reached a point when you can possibly get no better, then spice it up with some variations.

Don’t Neglect Your Lower Body Workouts!

From personal experience, lower body exercise can be the toughest. Whether you’re giving attention to your quads, hamstrings, thighs or glutes, it can all become very taxing after a short while. However, the benefits of exercises like high knees and lunges are innumerable. Many professionals recommend mixing up your routines with many different lower body workouts. If you create a daily routine, it will be easy for you to adhere to this, one day you do many squats, the next high-jumps, and the next crunches.

Once you reach your threshold, as with strength training, then spice things up. Don’t do an ordinary squat, do one-legged squats or close body Mantis squats! There are so many to choose from.

Never Neglect Your Core

Core workouts can be some of the easiest forms of exercise you can do as many require little equipment other than your body! Exercises such as sit-ups, push-ups, squats, and close-body Mantis squats, are all forms of core exercise, and all contribute to a healthy and strong core.

Yoga

Many people think Yoga is just pseudoscience, but they’re wrong. Yoga has proven health benefits and a rich history going back thousands of years – Yoga can not only boost your immune system but can improve your cognitive abilities and aid with digestion. Yoga can be hard to get started and master at home, which is why it is recommended that you get a DVD, watch a YouTube video, or join an online webcam class to perfect your Yoga abilities and reap the innumerable rewards.

It is important that however you decide to exercise, that you exercise regularly. Heart disease, among other problems, are rampant among the young in our current generation, as little exercise and many have terrible diets. The most important thing aside from exercise is your diet, it will be impossible to reap rewards from exercise if you do not eat correctly. Watch your calorie intake and keep a hold on your diet so you can change your life, all from the comfort of your living room.
