on

The Gibbes Museum of Art will host two virtual events this week. You can see details for each below.

Schedule:

  • Thursday, May 21; 10:30 am – Join author and illustrator Jonathan Miller for this week’s installment of Illustrator Chats. Miller will read “The Adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund” followed by an art demonstration. To view this event, visit www.facebook.com/theGibbesmuseum.

  • Friday, May 22; 7 pm –  Singer and songwriter Ann Caldwell performs her most recent work, Exodus: Bound for Freedom. Exodus: Bound for Freedom explores the journey from slavery to freedom through song and spoken word. The stories and songs illustrate the determination of Ann Caldwell’s ancestors desire to not to live their lives as enslaved people. Ann uses objects from the Gibbes Permanent Collection to illustrate her songs and stories. For images associated with this event, please visit https://bit.ly/3bIIqcw. The concert will be streamed  on the Gibbes Facebook page at www.facebook.com/theGibbesmuseum.
