Charleston-based South Carolina for Criminal Justice Reform (SC4CJR), is hosting a new virtual series called “Dissecting Police Problems and Solutions.” The group’s mission is to “unveil the injustices that plague each stage of the criminal justice system, educate the public on those injustices, and create effective proposals for legislative reform.”

In the series, leaders in the criminal justice community will discuss the role they can play to identify injustices and create solutions.

Episode 1, “Use of Force and Qualified Immunity,” will air live on Thursday, June 11th, at 7 pm via the SC4CJR Facebook group. Speakers will include:

    • Seth studies policing and how it is regulated, and is the principal co-author of Evaluating Police Uses of Force (forthcoming from NYU Press in 2020). He is a frequent lecturer on policing issues, regularly appears on national and international media, and has written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, and TIME.

  • Charleston School of Law Professor and Lawyer Scott Anthony

    • Scott focuses on civil litigation as a fourth year adjunct professor at Charleston School of Law. Prior to law school, he served as economic planner for the state of George via the Regional Development Commission.
