Visit SC State Parks for Free With CCPL Exploration Kits
A CCPL Library Card gives you access to worlds of wonder through books, streaming movies, TV and music, digital resources, and more, but that’s not all. Now, thanks to a grant by the State Library, you can explore ANY South Carolina State Park for free!
South Carolina State Park Exploration Kits are now available for checkout. The kits are free, all you need is an active CCPL library card (temporary e-cards not included). Each kit includes:
- A pass for FREE entry to any State Park (including Charles Towne Landing and Edisto Beach)
- A magnifying glass and binoculars (perfect for getting an up close look at our natural world)
- A recommended reading list (know before you go)
- A list of all 47 State Parks
Checking out a kit is easy! Even though branches are currently closed to the public, you can place a hold online or by calling your local branch during operating hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9 am to 3 pm – hours are subject to change). Once your kit is ready, just pick it up via curbside service from 16 of our 17 branch locations (Poe/Sullivan’s Island is currently not offering curbside service). Kits can be checked out for a maximum of two weeks, and can be returned via our bookdrops.
Quantities are limited and kits will only be available through December 2020, so get yours today! For more information, visit ccpl.org, give us a call, or chat with a librarian online.
