Final Chance to View Public Meeting and Provide Input on Lowcountry Rapid Transit Recommended Route

The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) continues to seek input on the Lowcountry Rapid Transit (LCRT) project as the current round of public input draws to a close on July 10th.  

The public is asked to view and provide input on the recommended route and proposed station areas throughout the corridor. BCDCOG launched a virtual public meeting for Lowcountry Rapid Transit on June 10th, unveiling the recommended route and updated potential station areas for the proposed 26-mile bus rapid transit system.

LCRT is a critical component in the evolution of the region’s transportation infrastructure. This proposed system would connect Charleston, North Charleston, and Summerville along the US 78/US 52 (Rivers Avenue) corridor.

“Community feedback is a vital source of information for the project team as we work to position the project to qualify for federal funding,” said Sharon Hollis, BCDCOG principal planner and LCRT project lead. “Whether you’re learning about the project for the first time or have been with us from the start, we encourage you to view our online meeting and leave a comment.”
