Charleston Domestic Violence Nonprofit Launches Online PPE Store to Raise Funds

Published

on

Earlier this summer Thrive Saves Lives, a local nonprofit supporting victims of domestic violence, partnered with Caroline Baker and Sew. Some. Good. to donate more than 12,000 masks to local healthcare providers, hospitals, medical clinics, pharmacists, and first responders. Through other partnerships they also provided masks to the elderly, the vulnerable and immune-compromised, home health and retirement community caregivers, rehabilitation facilities, and CCSD.

Thrive is now selling masks in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. All proceeds from mask sales will go directly to helping women, children, and family pets who are survivors of domestic violence.

The home-sewn, cotton, reusable masks are coming from community members all over the tri-county area that are donating time and efforts to sew masks for frontline healthcare workers, first responders, and many others. All proceeds will go to programs and services for domestic violence survivors and their family pets. Procedural and KN-95 masks are also being sold on Thrive’s PPE Store, along with hand sanitizer, and a plethora of other PPE.

Thrive is in community partnership with Heroes Need Masks (heroesneedmasks.com/request-ppe), connecting private donors, volunteers, and public resources with healthcare workers, first responders, and local communities to ensure that every hero has a mask. Also contributing masks to Thrive’s fundraising efforts is Katherine McDonald, Fashion Designer and Founder of Lula Kate, made to order bridesmaid dresses, and Kate McDonald Bridal, custom bridal gowns.

Support Thrive Saves Lives and slow the spread of Covid-19 by purchasing PPE from thrivesaveslives.org/ppestore.
