City of Charleston Day of Prayer and Remembrance

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and local clergy members will hold a Day of Prayer and Remembrance ceremony in honor of the more than 900 South Carolinian lives lost to the COVID-19 pandemic at 12:15 pm on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at St. Michael’s Church, located at the corner of Meeting and Broad Streets.
During the ceremony, Mayor Tecklenburg will issue a proclamation on behalf of the city and each of the four clergy members will deliver a prayer. In accordance with the mayor’s proclamation on Thursday, the flag atop City Hall will be flown at half-staff to honor the COVID-19 victims.
The ceremony will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/CityCharleston.
Attendees are asked to practice safe social distancing during this event. The following are expected to be in attendance:
