BCLS Extends Summer Reading Program Deadline
Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) Summer Reading Program has extended its deadline to August 7 for all ages to participate in Summer Reading and win prizes! The 2020 theme is Imagine Your Story and offers a reading log to download or print. Digital products such as E-books, E-Audiobooks and E-Magazines are also welcome as well as books.
Summer Reading also includes Give Our Books New Looks Art Contest for third-fifth grade students to design a new cover or draw a scene from a favorite book and be entered to win a prize! A template can be downloaded or located at any BCLS branch. Students will need to submit all artwork by August 31. One entry per person.
“Our Summer Reading Program ends on August 7. Make sure you sign up and earn prizes. We encourage all third-fifth graders to enter our Give Our Books New Looks Art Contest by August 31. Please visit our Facebook page and view our Virtual Programs. We really miss seeing all of your smiling faces this summer!” – Sharon Fashion, Youth Services and Summer Reading Program Coordinator
“Summer is a great time for both adults and children to catch up on reading for personal interest and enjoyment. It is also a good time to set new reading goals. So, if you’re reading anyway, you might as well get prizes for it!” – Shannon Duffy/YA Librarian, Summer Reading Program Coordinator
