#ComeProtected: Local Charleston Creatives Encourage You to Wear a Mask
Local Charleston creatives and business leaders have been so troubled by the anti-mask sentiment they see – and the way social non-distancing has driven COVID-19 spikes regionally – that they decided to fight the virus with a new viral campaign called #ComeProtected. The videos provide a humorous approach to a serious problem.
Created in partnership by videographer Adam Boozer and writer Stinson Carter, and underwritten by local healthcare company Equiscript, the two PSAs offer a cheeky argument FOR wearing masks. All talent, location, and other support has been donated by the Charleston creative community.
In one video, a young couple (Maari Suorsa and Henry Riggs of Nameless Numberhead) struggles to “put it on” in a cramped car, harkening back to classic condom ads. In another, the pretty girl (Cherie Kaufman) at the bar does not make the “obvious” choice (this clip also stars Andy Livengood and Adam Southard). You can see both videos below.
You can learn more about the campaign, and see the credits for both videos, at comeprotected.net.
