An Exhibition of New Work by Lori Putnam and James Richards Opens 9/4
Press Release
“We both wanted the same thing: dead fish and beer.”
That’s how artist Lori Putnam describes the day that she and fellow painter James Richards developed an almost sibling-like bond. More than 10 years later, these “siblings” are finally having a show together. Sibling Rivalry opens September 4th at Meyer Vogl Gallery and will feature new work by both artists.
“It seemed about time that we had an exhibit like this. We have such respect for each other’s work, and we enjoy each other’s company and painting together,” says Putnam.
What to expect from the two-person exhibition? “This new body of work showcases our mutual love for the Lowcountry, our family, and good friends,” explains Putnam. Both Putnam and Richards are award-winning southern contemporary impressionists who specialize in oils.
In lieu of an in-person opening exhibition, Meyer Vogl Gallery will be hosting an all-day pop-in (masks required!) on Friday, September 4th, and the artists will chat and answer questions about Sibling Rivalry on Instagram Live at 1:30pm EST opening day.
