Charleston County Council Announces Vacancies on Boards and Commissions

Charleston County Council announces the following vacancies on boards and commissions:

Applications for the following boards and commissions are accepted through Monday, August 24, 2020.

  • Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District Advisory Board
    • 3 vacancies for residents serviced by the Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District
  • Firemen’s Insurance and Inspection Fund (1% Commission)
    • 3 vacancies for residents of the St. Andrews Public Service District
    • 3 vacancies for residents of the St. John’s Fire District
    • 3 vacancies for residents of the Awendaw-McClellanville Fire District
    • 4 vacancies for residents of the James Island PSD
    • 3 vacancies for residents of the St. Paul’s Fire District
  • Board of Assessment Appeals
    • 2 vacancies
  • Business License/User Fee Appeal
    • 2 vacancies
  • Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals
    • 1 vacancy for a Licensed Mechanical Contractor
    • 1 vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer
    • 1 vacancy for a Registered Architect
    • 1 vacancy for a Civil Engineer
    • 1 vacancy for a Licensed Electrical Contractor
  • Disabilities & Special Needs Board
    • 2 vacancies
  • Procurement Appeals Board
    • 2 vacancies
  • Set Off Debt Collection Hearing Officer
    • 1 vacancy
  • Weed and Trash Abatement Hearing Board
    • 1 vacancy

Applications will be considered by Charleston County Council’s Finance Committee on September 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. The committee will make recommendations to fill these vacancies to full Council, and County Council will vote on those recommendations at its County Council meeting on September 8, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.

Charleston County Council encourages citizens of Charleston County who are willing to volunteer to serve on one of these important boards to submit an application for appointment.
