Cunningham & Norman Recognized as “Fiscal Heroes” by Campaign to Fix the Debt
Rep. Joe Cunningham (SC-01) and Rep. Ralph Norman (SC-05) were both recognized as Fiscal Heroes for their work on fiscal responsibility by the Campaign to Fix the Debt, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to educating Americans about rising national debt.
“I was sent to Congress to reform the status quo and rein in our out-of-control spending,” said Rep. Cunningham. “Getting our fiscal house in order will require Democrats and Republicans who are willing to work together and make tough choices, especially in the aftermath of this public health and economic crisis. Our children and our children’s children are relying on us to get this right.”
The Campaign to Fix the Debt describes a Fiscal Hero as a member of Congress who has “distinguished themselves by taking responsible votes, participating in fiscally themed events, pushing party leaders to confront the debt, leading efforts to develop debt-reducing policy options, using town hall meetings to engage and educate constituents, delivering floor speeches to raise awareness about debt’s dangers, advocating to keep many options on the table, and introducing legislation to improve the nation’s fiscal position.”
