Local Maker Helps Children in Need by Joining “The Caring Economy”

Local maker Knutty Knitter SC is using her talents to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children through a new movement called “The Caring Economy.” The Summerville-based maker this week unveiled their storefront on goimagine.com, joining thousands of like-minded artists around the country looking to kick-start the new marketplace that cares.

Jennifer O’Neil has been selling handmade knit products online for almost a year. By bringing her Knutty Knitter SC shop to Goimagine, which donates 100% of profits from the marketplace to children’s charities, O’Neil is helping support a new mission-driven marketplace.

“When I learned about Goimagine I couldn’t wait to get involved,” O’Neil said. “It’s such an easy way to do good in the world. I was already selling at other online marketplaces. So doing it on a marketplace focused on helping children in need seems like a no brainer.”

Goimagine is the world’s first marketplace focused on company growth solely for the purpose of increasing charitable donations.

“We are very excited that Jennifer decided to join our growing community of handmade sellers across the country,” Jon Lincoln, founder of goimagine.com, said. “Our hope is to prove that an online marketplace can be successful while also focusing on social responsibility. With makers like Jennifer we will be able to do it.”
