Sunday’s Virtual Holy City Vintage Market Celebrates Four-Year Anniversary, Supports We Are Family

On Sunday, September 13th, the virtual Holy City Vintage Market (HCVM) will celebrate its fourth year of bringing together like-minded, sustainable fashion junkies, which happened the very same weekend in 2016. The market will also hold its third raffle of the year, this time in support of We Are Family, a Southern Grassroots non-profit organization with a mission to provide affirming spaces for LGBTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, etc.) and ally youth up to the age of 24 through direct support, leadership development, and community engagement.

Market hours this Sunday are 12 pm to 3 pm and will be held virtually on HCVM’s Instagram story, where hundreds of items from 20 local vendors — like Major Vintage, Runaround Sue Vintage, Embellished Premium Apparel, and Fatty Cat Vintage — will be featured. Viewers can shop the story and DM individual shops to purchase items and set up contact-free postage/delivery/pickup.

The We Are Family raffle runs all week through midnight the day of the market. The prize bundle includes items from a dozen vendors, including The Fern, The Snail, & The Wren, Sage Flower Essentials, Major Vintage, Threads Todisco, and Tinted Saga.

To enter, donate directly to We Are Family via waf.org. Each $5 is worth one entry. Sustaining donors = automatic 10 entries. Choose from recurring options like annually, semi-annually, quarterly, and monthly. Entrants must write ‘raffle entry’ in the Additional Comments section of the donation form.

A winner will be drawn on Instagram live with We Are Family and HCVM at noon on Monday, September 14th.

We Are Family is the second oldest LGBT organization in the state of South Carolina. We Are Family began in April 1995 under the direction of Tom Myers, the father of a gay son. Tom recognized the need for support for LGBTQI+ youth, and WAF was born from the love of a father for his son. This year we are celebrating 25 years of providing support and services to LGBTQI+ youth in the Lowcountry!

The Holy City Vintage Market was founded in 2016 as a pop-up market embracing all-things vintage and secondhand, including clothing, accessories, records, home decor, and more. Ever since the pandemic began, the market has switched to a virtual format taking place via its Instagram story. HCVM encourages folx to use vintage to find their own unique style and make sustainable fashion a way of life.
