Nancy Mace Attends White House’s Offshore Drilling Moratorium
State Rep. Nancy Mace, the Republican nominee for South Carolina’s First Congressional District, on Tuesday attended President Donald Trump’s offshore drilling moratorium announcement. At the event, President Trump detailed a ten-year moratorium on offshore drilling activity off the coasts of South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia.
Nancy Mace issued the following statement after the announcement:
“As a someone who has always and will always stand in fierce opposition to offshore drilling, I am heartened to see bipartisan support for keeping our coastline safe and secure from the threat of offshore drilling. This has been a long time coming. My first rally as a state lawmaker was an anti-offshore drilling rally. The first piece of legislation I filed as a state lawmaker was an anti offshore drilling measure. With a 100% rating from the Conservation Voters of SC, I will always fight for clean air, clean water, and for our beautiful SC coastline. Today I want to thank President Trump and his administration for the invitation to this historic announcement putting in place a moratorium through 2032 that will protect our coastline from offshore drilling.”
