At 11 pm, tonight, Tuesday, September 15th the Dorchester County Water & Sewer Department will temporarily turn off water service to the below businesses in the Oakbrook Area of North Charleston for an emergency repair to the system.

  • Walmart Super Store
  • Chili’s Bar and Grill

  • Business located in the 9730 and 9770 Dorchester Road out parcels which include but are not limited to Sake House, Pizza Hut, Señor Tequila, Angel Nails, and Sweetgrass Animal Hospital.

Residential water service will not be interrupted.

The water must be turned off for an emergency repair to a connection between a fire hydrant and the main waterline.

Dorchester County Water and Sewer crews will work overnight to make the repair in an effort to limit the impact to local businesses.

The water will remain off for approximately 4 hours while the repair is made.

When the water supply is restored, customers are advised to boil their water vigorously for at least one (1) full minute before drinking or cooking. Also, any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes. Notification will be given as soon as the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Business owners in the above-mentioned area are asked to contact the Dorchester County Water & Sewer Department at (843) 832-0075 or (843) 563-0075 with any/all questions.
