Sam Skardon, Democratic nominee for State Senate District 41, announced a $185,000 ad buy and released the campaign’s first television ad on Thursday. Campaign spokesperson Chris Covert said the buy will run through election day and be spread across television and digital services.

Skardon’s TV ad titled, “Move South Carolina Forward,” can be viewed below. The video spotlights local oyster farmers Deja and Trey McMillan who emphasized, “The Lowcountry thrives off of local small businesses like ours, and Sam Skardon fights for us everyday.”

“I am extremely proud of our first ad, and I believe it captures the hopeful and optimistic vision for progress the Lowcountry wants and South Carolina so desperately needs,” said Skardon.

“Sam’s message offers a clear contrast with our opponent’s first ad,” Covert said. “While Senator Senn is using the politics of fear to divide us, Sam is sharing a vision where every South Carolinian has access to a high quality public education, modern infrastructure, and economic opportunity. District 41 deserves a leader who can and will fight for their constituents without major financial conflicts of interest. Sam has proven he fights for the little-guy and will continue to do that in the State Senate.”
