Taco Boy & Wiki Wiki Sandbar to Trade Spaces on Folly Beach

Two Folly Beach restaurants will soon swap homes out on the Edge of America. Karalee Fallert, founder and partner of both Taco Boy at Folly Beach and Wiki Wiki Sandbar, today announced that the two restaurants will trade locations this fall in order to “maximize capacity for each concept.”

Wiki Wiki Sandbar, which is currently at 106 East Ashley Avenue, will close at the end of service on Sunday, September 27th to begin renovations to become Taco Boy.

Additionally, after 14 years in its original location at 15 Center Street, Taco Boy will continue operations until renovations on East Ashley Avenue are complete. After approximately 4 weeks, Taco Boy will open its new location in late October featuring an updated taco menu, frozen drink bar, festive décor, and a roof top mezcal and tequila bar with ocean views.

Wiki Wiki Sandbar will re-open at 15 Center Street in late November with updated offerings including local seafood, sushi, tiki drinks, and some customer favorites like spam sliders, poke bowls and pupu platters.

“It may seem like a crazy idea, but it’s actually a return to how these restaurants were both conceptualized when we added the second business in 2018,” Fallert said. “The opportunity to reimagine our first Taco Boy and update the menu and service of both concepts feels like a giant gift, especially amidst the challenges presented by the pandemic. We love Folly Beach.”
