Mayor John Tecklenburg Issues a Proclamation for Kinship Care Month

HALOS, a tri-county nonprofit that supports kinship caregivers, is grateful to Charleston mayor John Tecklenburg for declaring September Kinship Care Month in Charleston.
“We are grateful for Mayor Tecklenburg’s support of kinship caregivers and his recognition of the sacrifices they make on a daily basis,” said Kim Clifton, Executive Director of HALOS. “On Friday, September 25th, we are asking people to wear gold in support and honor of all of our kinship caregivers. It is their dedication that makes a difference in a child’s life.”
On Friday, HALOS is asking the community to #GoGoldForKinshipCare by wearing yellow or gold and posting a photo to show support for kinship families in the Lowcountry and across the US. You can also change your Facebook profile picture to recognize families by clicking here.
