Woodlands Nature Reserve to Host “Drive-In The Woods” Movie Nights
This Halloween season, Charleston residents will be able to take their tricks and treats into the great outdoors with Woodlands Nature Reserve’s (WNR) “Drive-In The Woods” movie nights, beginning Friday, October 2nd. Presented as part of WNR’s Spaced Out Series, Drive-In The Woods is an outdoor movie experience on a 6,000-acre reserve.
“We are honored to bring premium entertainment to such a pristine environment,” Charleston native David “Big Hair” Brisacher, who co-produces events at Woodlands Nature Reserve with partner Vincent Iwinski, said.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early (gates open at 5 pm) to go on a hike, soak in the sun, and enjoy pre-movie live music. As dusk arrives, back-to-back movies each night will come to life on a giant 60-ft-by-30-ft screen.
Every Friday and Saturday night in October, evenings at Drive-In The Woods will begin with live music at 5 pm prior to the family feature (PG/PG-13) which starts at 7 pm. The late show (R-rated) will begin at 9:30 pm. A full schedule of films can be found below.
Each night will feature food trucks and vendors, and patrons are encouraged to bring their coolers, blankets, and chairs. Tickets will be limited to 150 cars with each vehicle strategically placed adjacent to a vacant parking space creating a private viewing area for each vehicle. Masks are recommended and encouraged and Covid-sensitive and responsible protocols will be practiced.
Each ticket includes access to enjoy the property beginning at 12 pm, and gates open to the movie viewing area at 5 pm. For those groups wanting to stay for both movies, double feature passes are available. Ticket pricing info can be found below and tickets can be purchased at this link. For those wishing to spend the night, multiple overnight primitive and ZUN Elevated Tent camping options as well as RV hook-up locations are available for booking at woodlandsnaturereserve.com.
