This year’s global pandemic caught us all off guard. At times, people felt confused, scared and isolated. Many people were sent to work from home and some even lost their jobs. Living in such stressful and uncertain times, people increasingly started looking for new ways to entertain themselves.

The easiest way to bring at least some peace of mind is to have a bit of fun. But with this new lifestyle many people are referring to as the new normal, having fun ca be a bit difficult. So, with that in mind, here are some easy ways you can stay entertained during Covid-19.

Go virtually to places you always wanted to visit

With the majority of travel agencies temporarily closing down, most of them decided to offer other type of content to their customers. Nowadays, you can easily find virtual tours of literally any place in the world. Be it a distant country, a museum you’ve never been to or a local art gallery, you can easily find virtual tours of such places. Use this opportunity to explore various places in the world. Also, you can use this situation to plan out your next vacation down to the very last detail. Besides, even if it does take a bit longer, we’ll all probably be able to travel again some time in the future.

Stay in touch with the people you love

A very important thing to note is that your personal relationships shouldn’t suffer in times like these. Yes, most of us are going through some difficult times and we do sometimes feel extremely isolated. But by staying in touch with your loved ones, all of this will seem at least a bit less stressful. Make sure you call your parents and see how they’re handling things. Check up on your grandparents and see if they’re doing well. Call your best friend and reminiscent of the good old days when you were able to grab a cup of coffee on a Thursday. By staying in touch with your loved ones you’ll ensure that none of you feel too alone or lonely.

Use this opportunity to learn something new

A thing most people advise is to try and learn something new. Many of them set goals that are sometime too unrealistic. For instance, you probably won’t be able to learn how to play an instrument on your own. But what you can do is have some fun online. For example, you can always check various online games and learn how to play them. Learning how to play poker or fun skill based slots won’t feel like a chore. Instead, you’ll be expanding your knowledge while having fun. And we all know that that’s the best way to learn.

Organize Zoom activity nights

The fact that you can’t get together with your friends – in person and have a charades night doesn’t mean you can’t do so over Zoom! Zoom and similar platforms offer a chance to still enjoy some fun activity nights with your friends while staying responsible. No matter what you choose to do, you can still have fun. Play charades, watch a movie together, organize a karaoke night or simply gossip a bit. The fact that you’re not all physically in the same room won’t really make a difference when the conversation gets going.

Go for a long walk

Yes, we’re all advised to stay home and avoid any social gatherings. However, going for a nice, long walk doesn’t make social distancing impossible. So, you can call your best friend, bring a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy going on a walk with them. But remember not to make any physical contacts and try to keep your distance to ensure that both of you stay safe. If you have pets, you can bring them along and let them have fun and play a bit. Remember, just because your dong can’t talk, that doesn’t mean they are not missing their friends too.

Pamper yourself

One of the best ways to improve your mood and keep yourself entertained is by pampering yourself. Prepare your favorite meal and enjoy having a romantic candle-lit dinner with your significant other. Draw a warm bubble bath, light some scented candles and enjoy some time relaxing while having a glass of your favorite wine. Alternatively, find the time to read that book you’ve bought four months ago. Or, if you can’t find enough time to actually read it – download an audio version. What’s best, if you opt for audio books you can listen to them while working out. That way you’ll kill two birds with one stone and make yourself feel good both physically and emotionally.

Make movie nights a thing again

In the end, the simplest way to entertain yourself is to get cozy on the couch and put on a movie or a TV show. With so many streaming and on-demand platforms available, you should have no issues finding something to watch. And don’t just limit your options to thigs you already saw or things you wanted to watch anyways. Sure, you can start with those but once you’re done with them continue to explore. Who knows? You may stumble upon a movie that will become your new favorite. Or you may completely waste two hours of your life. But it’s important to watch bad movies so we can appreciate the good ones even more.

As you can see, even though everyone’s lives changed entirely, we can all still find ways to entertain ourselves. So, snap out of that bad mood and try some of these out. You’ll see you’ll be having fun in no time!
