Gaillard Center Reschedules CSO October Performances
The Gaillard Center on Wednesday was notified that one of their technical team members tested positive for COVID-19. The venue said the team member does not have direct interaction with patrons or front-of-house activities, but their role backstage is critical to executing on-stage events. For this reason, and out of an abundance of caution for their team, the Gaillard Center is working with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO) to reschedule its October concerts.
The following Charleston Symphony events are rescheduled:
Masterworks – Beethoven’s Beginnings on October 23rd & 24th to November 6th & 7th*
POPS – Once Upon a Time in the West on October 30th to November 13th*
*October tickets will be accepted at the new scheduled dates.
At this time, all other November performances are taking place as scheduled. The Gaillard Center says they will continue to closely follow the various safety measures already in place to keep patrons, team members, and partners safe.
“As always, safety is our top priority,” Stephen A. Bedard, President and CEO of the Charleston Gaillard Center, said. “Upon learning of this positive COVID-19 case, we immediately alerted the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control as well as the Charleston Symphony, which is scheduled to have four in-person events in the next two weeks. Even though this particular member of our staff does not have contact with patrons, the inability to execute technical responsibilities before these shows requires us to reschedule October’s concerts. We look forward to providing unforgettable experiences when we have all staff members safe and healthy to present these events.”
Ticket holders for the rescheduled performances will receive information from the CSO regarding next steps in the next 24 hours.
