Charleston County Parks to Host Drive-In Bluegrass Concert
Charleston County Parks is introducing a new way to celebrate fall this year – a drive-in bluegrass concert, called Pickin’ in the Park. Held on Saturday, November 7th, guests are invited to Johns Island County Park for a full afternoon of live bluegrass from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The drive-in concert will feature live performances from three local bands: Gravel Road, Southern Flavor Bluegrass Band, and Pluff Mud String Band. Gates will open at 12 pm and music will go from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Concert-goers must register in advance, and tickets are $40 per vehicle (of up to 4 people). On-site tickets will not be available. This event is expected to sell out, so early registration is recommended.
Vehicles will be parked in a designated parking space upon arrival at Pickin’ in the Park. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, tables, etc. to be used at their parking space. Tents will not be permitted and guests are asked not to block others’ views of the concert. Food and craft vendors will be available on site, and alcohol will also be available for purchase (valid ID required). Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed at all times.
Outside food, alcohol, and coolers will not be permitted, and masks are required during the event unless eating or drinking. Masks must also be worn when interacting with staff. Safety is a priority; staff and volunteers will also wear proper PPE. Handwashing stations and hand sanitizer will be available on site.
