The South Carolina Historical Society Announces Virtual 2020 Fall Tour
The South Carolina Historical Society (SCHS) announced its 2020 Fall Tour of Camden, SC in a new virtual format from Sunday, October 25th through Sunday, November 8th. The event is a collaboration with the Historic Camden Foundation and will include multiple historic sites throughout the city.
As South Carolina’s oldest historical society, the SCHS has hosted its annual historic tours in cities throughout the state since the 1950s. Previous tour locations include Beaufort, Charleston, and Aiken.
“We are thrilled to explore beautiful Camden for this year’s virtual fall tour,” Faye L. Jensen, Ph. D., Executive Director of the SCHS, said. “Known for its Revolutionary War history and breathtaking colonial homes, this year’s virtual tour will allow guests to explore one of South Carolina’s most historic cities without leaving the comfort of their own homes.”
The Fall Tour will be held in three videos premiering on Sunday, October 25th, and the videos will be viewable until Sunday, November 8th. Participants can contact the SCHS to purchase tickets and will be routed to Webinar Ninja – the application for viewing the tour.
The tour schedule is as follows:
- 12 pm – Hobkirk’s Hill: Revolutionary War to Present Day
- 2 pm – Camden District: Strategic Location for Trade and War
- 4 pm – Camden’s Winter Resorts and Inns
Tickets are $30 and available via the SCHS website. Ticket holders who are unable to watch the premiere or would like to re-watch it will receive a link available for viewing through November 8th.
