Lowcountry Rapid Transit to Co-Host Mobility on the Charleston Peninsula Webinar
Press Release
Lowcountry Rapid Transit (LCRT) is teaming up with Lowcountry Lowline and the Charleston Moves team to discuss mobility on the Charleston Peninsula in a livestream on the Lowcountry Lowline’s Facebook page on Thursday, October 29th, from 11 am to noon.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to register at the link here.
The webinar will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about the Lowcountry Rapid Transit and the Lowcountry Lowline projects, hear updates and ask the panelists questions. Panelists will include LCRT Project Lead Sharon Hollis, Friends of the Lowcountry Lowline Executive Assistant to the Board Megan Mills and Charleston Moves Executive Director Katie Zimmerman.
“Lowcountry Rapid Transit, Lowcountry Lowline and Charleston Moves all share the common goal of improving mobility on the Charleston peninsula,” said LCRT Project Lead Sharon Hollis. “We are looking forward to engaging with community members to discuss how these projects will transform our region by creating opportunities for safe and equitable access.”
The Friends of the Lowcountry Lowline are working alongside the City of Charleston to create a plan for the 1.7 miles of abandoned railway and neglected highway corridor along the backbone of the Charleston Peninsula.
Charleston Moves advocates for biking, walking and public transit infrastructure throughout Charleston County. They envision a connected, safe, accessible and equitable Charleston — where each person has a choice in how they move from one place to another.
