Palmetto Scent Studio Opens New Location in Downtown Charleston
The Palmetto Scent Studio announced its team will open their second location in downtown Charleston’s French Quarter at 157 Church Street. The studio invites visitors to explore the art of custom fragrance by selecting their favorites from more than 120 true-to-scent samples. With guidance from staff, customers blend their selections and incorporate them into a wide variety of products.
“Our premium soy wax candles are always a favorite, and this year our hand sanitizers have been flying off the shelves,” said owner Glenda La Rue. “We also offer a wide variety of other products such as linen and body mists, body wash, roll-on fragrance and my personal favorite, goat milk and honey body cream. The best part is, all of our products can incorporate a visitor’s unique personality through their own custom fragrance.”
The studio retains a foundation of about 100 scents with others that rotate seasonally. They will also soon offer a special holiday collection.
La Rue founded the business with her husband, Jeff, in 2015 as a pop-up experience at farmers markets, breweries, and special events. In 2018, they opened their first permanent location in Freshfields Village adjacent to Kiawah, Seabrook, and Johns Islands.
Most products are ready to take home right away, but candles take about about 1 ½ – 2 hours to cool after they have been poured. That offers customers a chance to explore the market area or grab a meal or refreshment at one the many nearby restaurants.
