Veterans and Active Duty Military Receive FREE Admission to the Joseph Manigault House on 11/11
The Charleston Museum invites the community to explore the history of the historic Joseph Manigault House (right) this Veteran’s Day. During World War II, the Joseph Manigault House, located at 350 Meeting Street, served as a USO post and Red Cross training facility. Servicemen attended dinners and parties, played games, and wrote to their families while bunking at the house during the war.
Enjoy playing badminton and horseshoes in the garden and explore objects from the Museum’s textile, history, and archival collections which will be temporarily on display in the house. These special exhibits and tours will be available from Friday, November 6th through Wednesday, November 11th.
This program is free for Charleston Museum members and free with admission to the Joseph Manigault House ($12/adults, $10/Youth, $5/children, and under 3 free). Special tours will be held at 1 pm and 3 pm each day during the event to focus on this unique history.
All veterans and active military will be admitted free to the Joseph Manigault Historic House on November 11, 2020, with a valid military ID. Offer not available online. Visit CharlestonMuseum.org or call 843.722.2996 for more information.
