Bistro A Vin Welcomes New General Manger
Bistro A Vin, the downtown eatery serving French-inspired wine, cheese, and small bites, today announced that Level 1 Sommelier Jordan Hooker (right) has joined the team as new General Manager.
Hooker, a United States Navy Veteran, began his career in the food and beverage industry in 2008, where he curated a deep passion for wine and love for sharing his wine knowledge with others. Bistro A Vin Co-Owner Dominique Chantepie will continue to be around the Bistro with his wife Florence in an advisory role, in addition to managing the wine program at soon-to-open Bistronomy on Spring Street.
“I’m so excited to join Florence and Dominique at Bistro A Vin to deliver exceptional wine experiences to both locals and tourists alike,” Hooker said. “I love the bistro’s familial feel, and look forward to introducing hundreds of new people, both sophisticated wine lovers and those who are new to wine, to the vast selection at our bistro.”
Hooker said he hopes that guests will visit him to help them curate their perfect wine selection for holiday entertaining, as well as during Bistro A Vin’s Tasting Tuesdays – the perfect chance to sample three new wines (along with three small bites) for $15 per person, available weekly from 4 pm to 7 pm.
Hooker is also available for booking private Sommelier-led wine tastings at the Bistro, with the option to add charcuterie for an additional cost. Call Bistro A Vin for more information on private tasting pricing and options (843-974-4441).
Hooker anticipates becoming a Level 2 Sommelier (with the Master Court of Sommelier) once the courts move forward with testing. Hooker has called Charleston home for the past three years with his wife and dog.
