The 2021 College of Charleston women’s basketball recruiting class has been ranked No. 1 in the CAA and No. 47 in the country by the Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Basketball Report.
The three-player class earned the top spot in the conference for the first time in school history, and the national ranking was sixth among mid-majors and ahead of 25 Power 5 programs.
The trio includes Texans Grace Abercrombie from Jacksonville and Bria McClure from San Antonio and Anani Humphrey from Baltimore, Md. Abercrombie (162), McClure (187) and Humphrey (209) all garnered high individual national rankings from Dan Olson.
“To keep going in the right direction we have to be successful in recruiting,” said Head Coach Robin Harmony. “We have cultivated relationships with top AAU and high school programs, enabling us to attract talented players who will also be great representatives for our program and school.”
Harmony was the head coach at Lamar in Beaumont, Texas, for six seasons and has continued to mine the Lone Star State for top players, adding Abercrombie and McClure to current freshmen Chelsea Wooten, Anika McGarity and Zoe McCrary.
