Charleston Voted 2nd Friendliest City in the U.S.

Condé Nast Traveler’s readers have voted Charleston the second friendliest city in the United States. The designation was granted to the Holy City after the magazine tallied the results from their annual Readers’ Choice Survey. Nearby Greenville, SC topped the list.

The periodical had the following to say about Charleston’s second-place finish:

“Enjoy full-on Southern hospitality at its finest in Charleston, a small coastal city that has it all. Visitors often come for the history—such as the Civil War-era historic sites like Fort Sumter—and stay for the impressive culinary scene. Plus, with Kiawah Island and Isle of Palms just outside the city limits, the beach is only a short drive away. But the cherry on top is the friendly community, that always makes out-of-towners feel welcome.”

The Holy City is certainly no stranger to receiving honors from Conde Nast readers – you may remember that earlier this year they voted Charleston named the best small city in the U.S.. It was the tenth consecutive year the Holy City topped the list.
