Wild Dunes Resort Announces New Director of Resort Operations

Wild Dunes Resort, a Destination Hotel, is pleased to announce John D’Angelo (right) as Director of Resort Operations. D’Angelo previously served as the Opening General Manager for Grand Hyatt Nashville, a Hyatt Property with 591 rooms, seven food and beverage outlets and 77,000 square feet of meeting space.
With over 20 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry, D’Angelo will be responsible for overseeing all departments and ensuring customer satisfaction at Wild Dunes Resort, including the AAA Four-Diamond Rated Boardwalk Inn, the Residences at Sweetgrass, private condos, luxury home vacation rentals and its new 153-room Sweetgrass Inn opening in spring 2021.
“John D’Angelo’s hospitality expertise, paired with his experience with several Hyatt national properties, make him the perfect candidate to join our management team,” says Robin Sugar, Director of Human Resources. “As our Wild Dunes Resort community continues to grow with the addition of the Sweetgrass Inn, D’Angelo will be a valuable asset to help grow our best-in-class service and leisure and group travel markets, highlighting the year-round championship golf, nationally ranked tennis, new destination spa and multiple restaurant options including a new rooftop bar with stunning ocean and island views.”
Prior to his role at Grand Hyatt Nashville, D’Angelo was the opening Resort Manager at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and helped to open both the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency Trinidad. He also served on the executive committees of Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, Hyatt Regency Bellevue on Seattle’s Eastside and Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa in Florida.
