National Mass Violence Victimization Resource Center Shares Tips for Coping in the Aftermath of the Capitol Attack
The horrific and terrifying events that occurred on January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol were traumatizing for our Nation’s leaders and their staff, and very distressing to all Americans who witnessed the mayhem through the news media and social media.
Recognizing the devastating mental health impact of this terrible day, the National Mass Violence Victimization Resource Center (NMVVRC) has developed “Twelve Self-help Tips for Coping in the Aftermath of the Attack on the U.S. Capitol,” which can be accessed here.
The NMVVRC was established in 2017 through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime. The mission of the Center is to improve community preparedness and the nation’s capacity to serve victims recovering from mass violence through research, planning, training, technology, and collaboration.
