Press Release

Charleston Good, a nonprofit support and resource network serving the Lowcountry, has just launched a new directory of nonprofit organizations and social enterprises in the Lowcountry.

According to Todd Chas, Charleston Good’s Executive Director, the organization is doing what it often does – recognizing a niche of need and looking for ways to help fill it.

“Eventually, we will get this pandemic under control and folks in the Lowcountry will be eager to get back out in the world,” Chas said. “And based on the importance of community service in our community, we have no doubt that they will be looking for volunteer opportunities. Our guide will make it easier for folks to find local organizations actively seeking volunteers.”

In addition to connecting volunteers and local organizations, the guide will also serve as a one-stop directory of the many organizations doing amazing work in the Charleston area There are lots of lists of local organizations out there but most of them are not kept up to date and none of them are as comprehensive as the new guide from Charleston Good which already features over 500 local links.

Like most of Charleston Good’s projects, the guide is meant to be a collaborative effort. You can see the Grassroots Guide here.

Here’s how you can help this community project:

Charleston Good is asking local individuals and organizations to check out the guide, and help them add any nonprofit or social enterprises that they may have missed. If you are part of an organization, you are also invited to update your listing by providing additional information via an online form at CharlestonGood.com.
