Bulldogs, Jones take down Bucs Thursday afternoon

UNC Asheville saw a game-high 25 points from Taijon Jones as the Bulldogs used a late first-half run to break open the contest for a 92-54 win over Charleston Southern Thursday afternoon.

After Charleston Southern (1-10, 0-7 Big South) made it an 18-13 contest just nine minutes in, the Bulldogs (6-6, 5-2 Big South) used a 22-6 run to close the half and break it open.

Charleston Southern was led offensively by Phlandrous Fleming Jr.’s 20 points and seven rebounds.

UNC Asheville was led by Jones’ 25 while Trent Stephney (14), Coty Jude (12), De’Von Baker (10) and L.J. Thorpe (10) all finished in double figures.
