Local Design Company Turns Your Children’s Drawings into Jewelry

The company uses 3D printing technology to design and manufacture each custom piece, giving parents a way to preserve their children’s first doodles and handwriting.
Sprout Design Lab was created after a last minute scramble to find a Mother’s Day gift. Jade Brown, the company’s founder, spent the afternoon taking her young niece to multiple jewelry stores before settling on a handmade card. Using the design on the card, Brown’s at-home 3D printer, and an old necklace chain, Sprout’s first piece was created. After seeing the necklace, people started making their own requests. Soon after, Sprout Design Lab was founded by a small team of female engineers who wanted to combine their love for celebrating children’s creativity with their passion for engineering design.
