Flying Biscuit Serves Breakfast All Day, With Side Of Lunch

Mount Pleasant Brunch Cafe Offers Up a Plethora of Home Cooked Meals

Operating nearly two years (May 2019), The Flying Biscuit Cafe open 8am-2pm daily, has become a regular brunch destination for many who live and work east of the Cooper. Located at 794 Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant, Managing Partner Scott Tallman describes Flying Biscuit as the ideal value driven, breakfast and lunch eatery serving up home style meals. Quite frankly he’s right.

Whether you drop in when they first throw open the doors at 8am, or stop by at 1pm, you have a plethora of breakfast and lunch items to please the palate. Several items jump off the menu including the Egg-straordinary Breakfast Platter. Two eggs any way you want them, accompanied by a heaping helping of moon-dusted (seasoned proprietorial blend) diced potatoes, creamy dreamy grits, and a fluffy made from scratch biscuit. Very filling and a steal at $8.99.

With few exceptions just about everything on the menu is priced under $10, including their signature Angus Burger. Four additional signature sandwiches come in at under $11, including two suited for vegans, ie the Black Bean and the Beyond Burger. All come with house-made seasoned kettle chips.

Flying Biscuit’s ‘Our Famous Shrimp & Grits’ is well worth $14.99. Uniquely prepared white cheddar grits blanketed under a half dozen or more blackened shrimp, further coated in a red pepper and basil infused tomato sauce. It rivals similar dishes you’d get in downtown Charleston, but comes at $5 or $10 less.

The Hangover Hash is an overly generous stick to your ribs delight. An over-sized salad or soup bowl, filled to the brim with a half dozen delectables that go well together, with diced crispy buttermilk chicken as the base. Included in the medley are moon-dusted potatoes, two scrambled eggs, covered with a chicken chorizo (seasoned ground poultry), queso, and black bean salsa, with just a hint of cilantro. Easily excites the taste-buds, and hearty enough for two to share. A steal at $10.99.

Carrying an old school ranch style hunger into Flying Biscuit, than the Steak & Eggs platter has your name on it. A generous portion of steak cloaked in hollandaise sauce, beside two eggs any way you want them, with your choice of potatoes or grits. At $16.99 it’s the most expensive entree on the menu.

Another favorite at Flying Biscuit is the Chicken & Waffle platter. Three plump, all white crispy buttermilk chicken pieces layered over a fluffy Belgian waffle. Slather it with maple syrup or any other topping of your choice. Great for early morning entree or midday meal.

While biscuits come with just about every entree, with the Free Bird the biscuit is underlying theme. A warm fluffy split biscuit smothered in buttermilk chicken, two over easy eggs, and chicken sausage gravy, topped with a drizzle of syrup. Serving fresh and hot with a extra dreamy creamy side of grits. If you’re just mildly hungry, this dish can satisfy two for $12.99.

Omelets, French toast, pancakes, sandwiches, and burgers aplenty, they are all on the menu, including individual $5-$7 work day specials that are wallet friendly. How about the hump day Chicken & Waffle meal for $5. Also on Wednesday the $7 Dirty Bird is a golden waffle layered with chicken tenders under two over-easy eggs and chicken sausage gravy. Hearty meals at fast food pricing. Yummy! Kids 6 and under eat free weekdays with paid entree.

On Thursday’s you can get any burger and a beer for $10, or even Pancake Tacos and a cold brew for $10. That’s right, the Flying Biscuit Cafe has a beer & wine license, so if you like a little adult beverage with your meal, you might be in the right place. Prosecco, and house made Bloody Mary’s accompany a half dozen ice cold beers. The Wake Up Burger will do just that, wake you up. Complete with apple-wood bacon, fried egg, American cheese, and avocado, it’s a salute to the southwest.

On TGI Fridays you get your choice of two entrees and a large carafe of mimosa for a mere $29. Great for your first date, or just a way to kick start the weekend with that certain someone. There are a plenty of reasons to come into The Flying Biscuit Cafe, but the biggest reason would be good tasting food at affordable prices.
