Wild Dunes Resort Honors American Heart Month with Special Programming

Wild Dunes Resort on Tuesday announced a full week of socially-distanced activities in honor of American Heart Month, which will kick off with a beach sweep and resort clean up on February 24th and finish with a virtual Lowcountry Heart Walk on January 27th. Participants are encouraged to register for the 2021 Lowcountry Heart Walk online and donate to the American Heart Association.

Each year, the Lowcountry Heart Walk attracts more than 5,000 participants and 70 organizations dedicated to eradicating cardiovascular disease. In 2020, the Lowcountry came together to raise over one million dollars for the first time in South Carolina history, and the American Heart Association is working to repeat their unprecedented feat again in 2021. This year’s reimagined event is encouraging more people across the Lowcountry to walk on their own accord, while raising funds to save lives.

“Our team at Wild Dunes Resort is once again leading the charge for the community this American Heart Month by raising funds and awareness from afar,” said Dan Battista, Lowe’s senior vice president and Chairman of the 2021 Lowcountry Heart Walk. “The Lowcountry Heart Walk is a cause very much aligned with Lowe’s corporate values and culture, and we are hopeful that everyone will support the American Heart Association’s mission by creatively participating this year, whether it is around your place of work, neighborhood or just around your house.”

See below for a list of American Heart Month activities scheduled at Wild Dunes Resort:

February 1-28: Red pinwheels will be arranged outside, adjacent to Boardwalk Inn
February 24: Locals and hotel guests can spread out at the Wild Dunes Resort Grand Pavilion beachfront for a socially distanced beach sweep and resort clean up
February 25: Wild Dunes Resort’s executive committee will participate in a Polar Plunge unless they raise their goal ($15,000) to “save themselves” from running into the ocean. If all other Wild Dunes Resort team members raise their goal ($35,000), the executive team must jump into the Atlantic
February 27: 2021 Lowcountry Heart Walk
