Charleston Business Leader with Asthma Lip Syncs to Fund Lung Health
Charleston Businessman, Eric Elliott, has lived with asthma since he was a teenager, so he wants to help others with asthma and lung disease. On March 11th, he will be one of the celebrity performers at the American Lung Association’s Lip Sync For Lungs.
In 2009, Elliott created VIP Marketing and Advertising, a top digital marketing and advertising agency in Charleston that specializes in the automotive, legal, and healthcare industries. Then in 2015, he saw a need for marketing creative on smaller budgets, so he created Craft Creative, a full-time video production and creative agency serving the entire U.S. Elliott is personally impacted by lung disease, so he was excited to get involved with Lip Sync For Lungs.
“This hits home for me,” Elliot said. “I have dealt with Asthma since I was a teenager and now have my asthma controlled. It is institutions such as this that help provide knowledge, research, and help to those in need. The impact is very critical for those with COVID-19 and I want to do my part to help leave this world better than I found it.”
For the event on March 11th, Elliott will compete against four other Charleston celebrities in an epic show-down to win the title of Lip Sync Battle Champion. The event typically takes place at the Charleston Music Hall but was re-imagined as a unique drive-in event at The Bend.
“Not the typical lip-sync performance,” Elliot said. “I want to give the audience all I have because I only have one shot.”
More importantly, he hopes to give back to the local community in a time when it is needed most.
“I feel if you are able to help, you help,” Elliot said. “This is such a good cause and I believe our community needs this in the times that we are currently in. I want to be a better human. Regardless of the charity or the need, I want to help. I don’t want to leave this earth and wish that I stepped up and didn’t. I am also leaving an example for my kids.”
