Lowcountry Youth Services Hosts Event to Help Prevent Teen Dating Violence
Lowcountry Youth Services, a community based, youth development organization, will be hosting its second annual “Huddle Up for Healthy Relationships” Workshop. This event is a part of “Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month,” and is geared toward helping young people to discuss the elements of healthy relationships as well as identify ways to build relationships based on mutual respect.
This is one of three community events that Lowcountry Youth Services will be hosting in partnership with the Fact Forward and Not Right Now SC organizations, which are designed to increase the community’s ability to prevent teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and deal with dating violence in teens.
Speakers for this event include Christian Rainey of Men Against Domestic Violence, Shakeima Clark-Chatman, founder of Divas In Training, and Breonna Miller of Bre’s Life-Giving Teas. The workshop facilitator is Lowcountry Youth Services Board Member and blogger, Latoya Lewis. In ddition to speakers, the workshop will include interactive activities and more.
