SeamonWhiteside Adapts Amid Pandemic to Support Lowcountry Heart Walk Event
SeamonWhiteside, a full-service land design firm with offices throughout the Carolinas, recently participated in the Lowcountry Heart Walk benefiting the American Heart Association. SeamonWhiteside raised $11,382 to help contribute to this year’s event, bringing its total fundraising efforts for this event to $48,000 over the last four years.
As this year’s event transitioned to a “Walk Where You Are” style event amid the pandemic, companies across the Lowcountry adapted their fundraising efforts. With 29 employees participating from SeamonWhiteside’s offices throughout the Carolinas, the company got creative on how to raise awareness of the nonprofit’s mission and encourage fundraising.
“In a year when things are different, we had to reimagine what the experience was going to look like,” said Lia Contursi, Brand Strategist and Land Planner with SeamonWhiteside. “By expanding the effort to all of our offices, we were able to unify our team in support of this great mission and had almost double the number of people participate.”
Fundraising and activities were spread out throughout the month to help maintain awareness and involvement, including office trivia, wear red day to bring awareness to heart month, bring your dog to work day and group lunch walks. SeamonWhiteside surpassed its company fundraising goal and was recognized as a top fundraiser and for its participation in the Move More Challenge.
