Nexton Breaks Ground on the Midtown Club, Welcomes First Resident at Midtown
Press Release
Nexton, South Carolina’s most innovative and walkable community, recently broke ground on the Midtown Club, an expansive amenity center located in the heart of Nexton’s new neighborhood, Midtown. The 8,000-square-foot facility will be available to Nexton’s Residential Association members in spring 2022.
Designed by Charleston-based architecture and interior design firm LS3P, the Midtown Club features a state-of-the-art fitness room and yoga studio, children’s playroom, 7,200-square-foot resort-style pool, outdoor pavilion and event space. The club’s two multipurpose rooms offer a combined 2,800 square feet of open space for a variety of uses, such as a remote workspace and recreational and event space. One of the facility’s rooms can additionally be rented for birthday celebrations, conferences, speaker series and more.
“The Midtown Club illustrates our commitment to providing Nexton residents with the tools to maintain active and healthy lifestyles,” said Nexton’s Director of Marketing Cassie Cataline. “As we resume a sense of normalcy here in the Lowcountry, we will add to our programming to foster connections among neighbors and our business community to build an even stronger sense of camaraderie.”
The Midtown Club’s outdoor space, which was designed by landscape architecture and civil engineering firm SeamonWhiteside, will complement the building’s modern design with a formal lawn, open fields, pavilion, playground and tennis and pickle ball courts.
Upon completion, Midtown will offer 2,700 homes in a variety of types, sizes and price ranges to meet growing demand. All of Nexton’s residential neighborhoods and retail areas are connected by miles of walking trails and bike lanes. Single-family homes and townhomes range in size from approximately 1,000 square feet to more than 3,500 square feet and start in the $300,000’s.
Midtown’s first resident, Mike Phillips, moved into Saussy Burbank’s Grace Cottage in Midtown’s Blueway District earlier this month. Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Phillips relocated from Ladson and closed on his new home in March.
“After visiting the Info Cottage at Nexton, I was immediately drawn to Midtown’s big, Southern-style porches, inviting social dynamics and convenient access to Nexton’s outdoor amenities,” said Phillips. “I knew I wasn’t just buying a house but investing in the Nexton experience. I’m excited to watch everything unfold and welcome my neighbors in the coming weeks.”
Nexton was recently recognized as the top master-planned community in the U.S. by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). During NAHB’s 2021 Nationals virtual ceremony on March 5, Nexton received Gold Awards for Best Master-Planned Community in the U.S. and Best Brochure (Master-Planned Community).
